The Golden Pot
Oil on Linen 11"x14"
Just a short note tonight as I post my painting - I think this one is complete now. The composition has changed a bit from the initial setup which I posted earlier. The wine cork is new and the thread and dried rose branch are gone. It was the pleasing shape of the pot inspired me to paint this. I hope you enjoy the it!
Here is the same painting I posted as a WIP (work in progress):

The end result was worth the wait Shelley! A really stunning still life.
ReplyDeleteThanks Liz. Hope it has cooled off a bit over in your part of the world.
ReplyDeleteWow - what a beautiful piece here Shelley. A lovely composition, but the colors you've chosen really float my boat. You are definitely on a roll in your new space.
ReplyDeleteThanks Gary! I worked hard to apint the colours that I see. Lighting is such a big factor. The painting looks different under different light. In some it is too dark, in others just right.
ReplyDeleteI think, this is one of your best oil paintings (although come to think of it, it is really hard to decide which is better--they are all very beautiful). Love it, as M. Carder would say :)))
ReplyDeleteBest,
kristiulia
Thanks kristiulia.... see you on the other side!
ReplyDeleteWhat a talent Shell - love it!
ReplyDeleteShelley this is my favorite painting of yours. It's just gorgeous!
